Chris Gayle is perhaps one of the most loved cricketers in the context of modern day cricket. In spite of the 36-year old liaisons and controversies with female journalists in the recent past, Gayle is loved by almost all his fans. Each time the 36-year old deposits a ball into the stands, the fans forget his off-field controversies.

However, whilst reaching the latter stages of his illustrious cricketing career, Chris Gayle has a rather unusual request. It is no secret that Chris Gayle is an ardent fan of English Premier League club Manchester United. In spite of the Red Devils not doing too well in the season gone by, the Jamaican’s support for the club is undying.

Once Gayle spoke about his love towards football and revealed that if he wouldn’t have been a cricketer then definitely a footballer. MS Dhoni, Mahela Jayawardene, Yuvraj Singh, Sourav Ganguly, Eoin Morgan, etc are the big fans of Manchester United FC.

On his official Instagram account, Gayle wrote, ““Meeting went well with the new manager…once I get my terms then I will sign with @manchesterunited #SixMachine”

The turbulence in recent times saw Manchester United sack their out of favor manager Louis van Gaal. However, the Red Devils made headlines once more by naming former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as the undisputed successor for the outgoing Dutchman. However, whether the incoming manager of the illustrious club will hand Gayle a contract remains to be seen. Moreover, it is also highly unlikely that Gayle will be handed a player’s contract by Mourinho should such a circumstance arise.
