Cricket is returning to Commonwealth Games after a gap of 24 years. The event will witness the Australian Women facing the challenge of the Indian Women’s team in the inaugural fixture on Friday (29 July). It will be a fitting encounter between both teams looking to start the tournament on a positive note. Australia will be led by Meg Lanning, while Harmanpreet Kaur will be at the helm for India.

Top 3 captain or vice-captain picks in AUS-W vs IND-W Dream11 Fantasy Cricket Team:

1. Meg Lanning

The experienced top-order batter has the right technique, track record, and fine form under her belt. Lanning garnered 394 runs in nine innings of the Women’s World Cup earlier this year. The 30-year-old emerged as the top scorer for the team in the Ireland Tri-series with 113 runs in two innings, and a top score of 74.

2. Harmanpreet Kaur

The backbone of India’s middle-order has been consistent in providing contributions and helping the team to post strong totals or chase down a tricky score. In the 50-over World Cup, Kaur slammed 318 runs at an average of 53.

In the recently completed limited-overs series against Sri Lanka, the 33-year-old accumulated 211 runs in five appearances, which was the most by any Indian player. Apart from the bat, she can be useful with the ball as well.

3. Alana King

The talented spinner has been terrific in the last six-eight months with her wicket-taking abilities. After the breakthrough WBBL 2021/22 season, she got an opportunity with the national team. Alana scalped 12 wickets in nine appearances in the ODI World Cup and played a key role in Australia’s title victory.

In the recently completed Ireland Tri-series, the 26-year-old grabbed eight wickets in four matches and was the most successful bowler among the three teams.
