Preview:

There seems to be no stopping of the Trinbago Knight Riders as they cruised to their 4th consecutive win. The defending champions posted a record total of 267/2 in their previous match against the Jamaica Tallawahs. The Kieron Pollard-led team has been successful in the absence of a couple of key players due to injury. The new captain Pollard’s batting form can be considered as one of the reasons for the success.

They will take on St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Tuesday night as they aim for their 5th successive win of the tournament to become the table toppers. The Patriots have featured in 6 matches thus far; the most by any team. They began with back to back losses before bouncing back with a record 242-run chase. Their misery continued as they ended up losing their next two games. However, a perfect all-round match on Sunday moved them to No.3 in the points table.

Weather Condition/Report:

Warner Park received drizzles and showers on Sunday night which couldn’t cause any reduction of overs. However, the weather on Tuesday is likely to be clear without any interruptions.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The first two matches of the season at the Warner Park were high-scoring matches with one of them recording the 2nd highest T20 chase. However, the previous two matches turned out to be low scoring ones where the spinners and slow bowlers got great assistance. The recent happenings make it quite tough to predict the track at this venue. In general, the Warner Park witnessed scores over 170 and that could be possible on Tuesday.

Average first innings score: 178 (CPL matches since 2018)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 6, Lost – 2

Team News:

Mohammad Hasnain returns to Pakistan as his NOC got been taken back by PCB.

Darren Bravo is cleared to play after suffering recently concussion during the Test series against India.

Lendl Simmons remains in the TKR squad following Dwayne Bravo’s finger injury that ruled him out of the tournament.

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Captain – Lendl Simmons, Evin Lewis, Laurie Evans, Sunil Narine

Expert Advice:

James Neesham began the tournament with great success with both bat and ball. However, he failed to replicate that success after that. One of the reasons has been the top-order success which is not allowing him to get a chance to bat long. From being a must as captain or vice-captain, he has turned into a risky pick.

Probable Winners:

The Trinbago Knight Riders could extend their winning streak due to the depth in their batting.
