The Kieron Pollard-led Trinbago Knight Riders started their campaign in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on a winning note. The franchise, owned by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, beat the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 11 runs at the Queen’s Pak Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. In the triumph, one player who impressed was Mohammad Hasnain, the Pakistan fast bowler.

The youngster took the new ball and was also entrusted to bowl at the death. The 19-year-old seamer got rid of Mohammad Hafeez, his national teammate, to open his account in the T20 league. Thereafter, the Hyderabad-born nipped out Fabian Allen, who was threatening to take the match away from the Knights with 24 off only 10 balls. Hasnain continued to impress.

Shah Rukh met Hasnain at the TKR dressing room

Rayad Emrit became his third victim in his last over. The pacer conceded 36 runs, but it’s understandable, bearing in mind the phases in which he bowled. He cranked up the pace and also churned out clever variations in pace from time to time. The team owner was ecstatic with the team’s performance. After the victory, Shah Rukh went into the TKR dressing room.

The veteran went up to every other player and gave them a hug, congratulating them on the marvelous performance and playing like the defending champions. He also hugged Hasnain, the video of which is going viral on social media platforms. The actor’s actions may create a ruckus keeping in mind India’s souring relationship with Pakistan over the time being.

Here is the video

Hasnain burst on to the scene in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) where he plied his trade for the Quetta Gladiators, who won the championship for the maiden time. Hasnain was the Player of the Match in the final where the Gladiators defeated the Darren Sammy-led Peshawar Zalmi. The best part of his campaign was that he got to play under Sarfaraz Ahmed.

After a few days, he got the privilege of donning the national colours. To add to his delight, he was also picked in the Pakistan squad for the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. Unfortunately, the Young Turk didn’t get to play a match. Surprisingly, the PCB hasn’t offered him a contract for the 2019-20 season.
