The 13th edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) concluded on September 22, 2025, with Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) lifting their fifth title after a thrilling three-wicket victory over Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final. Under the leadership of Nicholas Pooran, Trinbago Knight Riders showcased resilience and depth, powered by Akeal Hosein’s outstanding all-round performance and Saurabh Netravalkar’s crucial three-wicket spell that tilted the game in their favor.
Despite their fighting run, Guyana Amazon Warriors, captained by the ever-inspiring Imran Tahir, once again fell short in the grand finale. This marked their eighth appearance in a CPL final and their second consecutive loss, underlining their reputation as consistent contenders who have clinched the elusive trophy only once so far.
Individually, the tournament produced some stellar performances. Shai Hope emerged as the leading run-scorer of CPL 2025, amassing 491 runs with trademark consistency at the top of the order. Tahir, leading from the front, finished as the highest wicket-taker with 23 scalps, further registering his status as one of T20 cricket’s greatest spinners. West Indies veteran Kieron Pollard was adjudged Player of the Tournament for his impact and presence, while Hosein’s brilliance in the final earned him the Player of the Match award.
Overall, CPL 2025 delivered thrilling cricket, fiery performances from Caribbean stars, and valuable contributions from overseas players, making it another memorable edition of the West Indies’ marquee T20 league.
