4. Kusal Mendis

Kusal Mendis has been a consistent performer for Sri Lanka in white-ball cricket.  He has featured in 90 ODIs and scored 2616 runs at an average of 84.79. Talking about the T20Is, the wicketkeeper-batter has scored 1059 runs in 49 games at a strike rate of 129.62.

Mendis set the T20 extravaganza in Australia ablaze with his blistering performances and notched up 223 runs in eight games at a superb strike rate of 142.94. When Sri Lanka locked horns with the Netherlands in the first round, he was in his element and took the opposition’s bowling attack to the cleaners, smashing 79 runs off 44 balls.

Mendis has the ability to adapt according to the situation. He can steady the ship when the team is in trouble and can also swiftly switch gears to dismantle any bowling line-up with his stroke play. Besides his batting prowess, the 27-year-old has safe pair of hands behind the stumps. With the ace batter up for grabs at the upcoming auction, many franchises could try to have him at their disposal.
