3 changes Lucknow Super Giants should make ahead of IPL 2027
The Super Giants finished bottom of the table in IPL 2026.
The Lucknow Super Giants had one more successive dismal season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, finishing dead last in the points table, with just four wins from 14 matches, racking up only eight points under Rishabh Pant's captaincy.
The franchise, despite boasting a solid Indian bowling attack, was found lacking in all departments. Their squad often looked incomplete, with a glaring lack of options in the bowling department and the batting lineup. While the mini-auction has not been a place for significant change, LSG will need to make significant alterations to their approach and combinations to better their results in the 2027 season.
Here are 3 changes Lucknow Super Giants can make for IPL 2027:
3. Incorporate reliable all-rounders
A common theme for LSG has been their consistent lack of extra options in the batting and bowling departments. Seven batters and five bowlers without extra options in either have been a detriment to them in the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The lack of options calls for the inclusion of a reliable all-rounder who offers solid contributions with bat and ball.
With Mitchell Marsh playing as a pure batter and Aiden Markram not being called upon as often with the ball, the need for someone who can contribute heavily with either bat or ball and can be handy with the other would help them alter their options and build their team combinations with much-needed balance.
