Shreyas Iyer has re-earned himself a central contract after putting on a stellar show in India's Champions Trophy triumph earlier this year. As per reports, the right-handed batter is expected to be back in the side for the five-match series against England. He has played 14 Tests and scored 811 runs at an average of 36.86.

Shreyas scored a century and a half-century in the two innings of his debut Test, which was against New Zealand in November 2021. After that, he went on to notch up four more fifties. Shreyas is another batter who plays spin really well. He had his struggles against short-pitched deliveries, but the Mumbai-born has addressed the issue in recent times. The 30-year-old likes to keep the scoreboard ticking, and his camaraderie with Rishabh Pant in the middle-order could win India many games over the next few years.
