2. Auqib Nabi
Auqib Nabi's maiden Test call-up is a landmark moment for both him and Jammu and Kashmir cricket. The right-arm pacer earned his place after a sensational domestic season, taking 60 wickets in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy while also impressing for India A during the recent shadow tour of the island nation.
However, Nabi's inclusion has largely come because of Jasprit Bumrah's injury. With Mohammed Siraj expected to lead the pace attack, Nabi has a valuable opportunity to showcase his abilities if he gets a chance in the playing XI.
Even so, once Bumrah regains full fitness, he is almost certain to reclaim his place as India's pace spearhead. Unless Nabi produces exceptional performances that make him impossible to ignore, retaining his spot in a fully fit squad could prove difficult.
