5 players Kolkata Knight Riders might target at IPL 2026 auction
Let us take a look at five players who could be targeted by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the upcoming mini-auction.
Prithvi Shaw
Young batter Prithvi Shaw could be seen as an interesting target for the Knight Riders in the IPL 2026 auction. After going unsold in 2025, the 25-year-old has bounced back strongly with a century on his Maharashtra debut in the Buchi Babu Tournament and another impressive 140-ball ton in domestic cricket. Shaw's batting and ability to provide solid starts could solve KKR's long-standing top-order issues.
In IPL 2025, openers Quinton de Kock and Rahmanullah Gurbaz struggled, forcing the team to rely heavily on middle-order rescue acts. With Ajinkya Rahane's future uncertain, KKR might look to make a new opening pair around a young Indian batter, making Shaw a potential fit. Having scored 1,892 IPL runs at a strike rate of over 147, Shaw could find a place in the squad.
