Rohit Sharma made his international debut against Ireland in an ODI match at the Civil Service Cricket Club in Belfast on June 23, 2007. He was a part of the Indian team that won the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007. Rohit played some crucial knocks during the tournament. The Mumbai batter also played an instrumental role in India's triumph in the 2013 Champions Trophy. After being appointed as the captain of the Indian team, he led the Men in Blue to back-to-back victories in ICC events - the T20 World Cup in 2024 and Champions Trophy in 2025. Apart from his international achievements, Rohit is a six-time IPL winner, with five of his six IPL titles coming as a captain. Rohit has played 67 Tests, 274 ODIs, and 159 T20Is, having amassed 4301 Test runs, 11176 ODI runs, and 4231 runs in T20Is. He may have retired from Test and T20I Cricket, but he is still playing ODIs for the national team. However, his T20I debut came in September 2007 against England during a T20 World Cup 2007 clash in Durban. He played four matches in the marquee event and bowled two iconic 20th overs under pressure against Australia in the semi-finals and Pakistan in the final. Joginder only played four ODIs and as many T20Is in his career, with the final against Pakistan being his last international appearance. He joined the Haryana police later in 2007, while still being an active cricketer. In 2023, he retired from all forms of cricket. He currently holds the rank of a DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) in the Haryana Police. 4. RP Singh RP Singh. However, the left-arm pacer made his T20I debut in 2007 in a Group D clash between India and Scotland in Durban. He picked up 40, 69, and 15 wickets from 14 Tests, 58 ODIs, and 10 T20Is, respectively. The Raebareli-born retired from all forms of cricket on September 4, 2018, when he was just 32 years old. He cited that his body was reminding him he was "an old man". Since calling time as an active cricketer, RP Singh ventured into commentary. He mostly did commentary in the Hindi language and managed to strike a chord with the fans with his knowledge of the game and in-depth analysis. In September 2025, the 39-year-old joined the men's national team selection committee, which is chaired by his former India teammate Ajit Agarkar. 3. Robin Uthappa Robin Uthappa (Source: JioStar) Robin Uthappa got his maiden India cap in an ODI clash between India and England in 2006. However, his T20I debut came in 2007 in the T20 World Cup encounter against Scotland in Durban, the same match in which RP Singh debuted in the shortest format. Uthappa played 46 ODIs and 13 T20Is for India, scoring 1183 runs in total. He also won the Orange Cap while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2014. The Knights won the title in that season. Uthappa retired from all forms of Indian cricket in 2022. Last year, he led the Indian team in the Hong Kong Sixes competition. However, the 39-year-old has made a name for himself as an ace commentator and cricket expert. He has his own YouTube channel, where he discusses and dissects relevant topics of the game. Uthappa has also been featuring in quite a few podcasts of late, sharing his experiences of playing at the highest level and much more. 2. Yusuf Pathan Yusuf Pathan. Apart from winning the T20 World Cup, he was also a part of the Indian team which won the ODI World Cup in 2011. He played 57 ODIs and 22 T20Is in his international career, aggregateing 1046 runs and picking 46 wickets. In February 2021, he retired from all forms of cricket. Pathan contested in the 2024 Indian general election from the Baharampur Lok Sabha constituency on a Trinamool Congress ticket and won, defeating incumbent Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury of Indian National Congress by a margin of 85,022 votes. He has also been turning heads with some exhilarating batting performances in legends leagues around the world. 1. Ishant Sharma Ishant Sharma. (Photo source: X) Ishant Sharma is in an elite list with Kapil Dev as the only two Indian fast bowlers to have played 100-plus Test matches. His international debut came in May 2007 in a Test match against Bangladesh. Ishant played 105 Tests, 80 ODIs, and 14 T20Is, picking up 311, 115, and eight wickets, respectively. The right-arm seamer last played international cricket in 2021. Ishant is still trying to make a comeback to the Indian team with performances in domestic cricket. However, the 37-year-old will find it hard to wear the national jersey again as talented fast bowlers are being unearthed every season through the various domestic tournaments in India, including the IPL.
