One of the main elements of success in the IPL is the sixes and the distance they cover. The number of sixes hit every season have just increased in number as the seasons have progressed. The cash-rich tournament has seen multiple players, reputed six-hitters or not, launch the ball metres into the air across the boundary. The long heaves add to the spectacle of the IPL and T20 cricket. With the 2026 edition of the cricketing extravaganza getting underway on March 28, CricTracker discusses six such players who have the prowess to hit the ball maximum distance. He played a vital role as a finisher in RCB’s title triumph, with 187 runs striking at 185.14. David launched a massive 100m six against the Punjab Kings at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and with his big hitting credentials will be expected to put the ball out of the stadium with massive sixes. 5. A wicketkeeper-batter at the start, he is now a true all-rounder, bowling quality off-spin. But what he has always been is a dangerous batter and a powerful six-hitter. Phillips missed the last season through injury but is expected to play a more prominent role in the Gujarat Titans middle-order in IPL 2026. Indian fans are fully aware of Phillips and his six-hitting capabilities. The Kiwi launched two 100+ metre long sixes in the T20 series against India prior to the World Cup. With his range hitting and ability to take down both pacers and spinners, he is a contender to be a potent six-hitter. 4. Playing for Lucknow Super Giants last season, he was prolific with the bat, scoring 524 runs at a blistering strike rate of 196.25. Against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens, Nicholas Pooran launched a 102-metre monster six, which was his longest of the season. He is a capable six-hitter despite his stature and frame, and his attacking style and ability to time the ball makes him a genuine contender for longest six of the season. 3. While his contributions with the bat in the last two seasons in the IPL have not been up to his lofty standards, the big-hitting all-rounder has been India’s reliable finisher in the T20I format. In the recently concluded T20 World Cup, Hardik launched a monstrous 109-metre six against Namibia, on his way to a 28-ball 52 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. He is one of the most feared batters in the shortest formats at his best, and the ease at which he can clear the rope makes him a potent contender to hit the biggest sixes. 2. The English all-rounder was picked up by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping INR 13 crore, proving that despite his form concerns, the ability he possesses with bat and ball are valuable in the T20 game. In IPL 2022, playing for the Punjab Kings, Livingstone hit the longest six of the season, a 117-metre monster six against the Gujarat Titans at the DY Patil Stadium. His ability to launch balls with a clean batswing is what sets him apart as a six-hitter, and coming in with a point to prove after omission from the England white-ball set-up, Livingstone is one to watch out for. 1. While he was battling a knee issue and was not able to perform with the bat in the 2025 season for the Chennai Super Kings, his ability to launch sixes at will is yet to fade away. Dhoni launched a massive 110 metre six against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2024 , showing that he is still a potent six-hitter. Chennai Super Kings fans, who pack the stadiums to catch a glimpse of Dhoni, will be expecting similar fireworks from him this season.
