Fakhar Zaman departs after controversial call against India - Match 14

Fakhar Zaman was promoted to open the batting against India in the Super-Four encounter against India in Dubai. The southpaw gave Pakistan a blistering start, hitting three boundaries before getting out in the third over. Hardik Pandya bowled a slower delivery, and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson reached forward to take the catch.

On-field umpires referred the decision to TV umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge. After multiple replays, the Sri Lankan umpire adjudged that the ball had carried through to Samson's mitts. Zaman had to make his way back to the dressing room, much to the frustration of the Pakistan camp. After the match, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha had also hinted that the decision was possibly wrong. The Men in Blue eventually won the match by six wickets.
