What is the price of Haval H9 SUV won by Abhishek Sharma?

India's young opener Abhishek Sharma, who walked away with the Player of the Tournament (POTT) award in the Asia Cup 2025, didn’t just receive a trophy and cash reward but also got a luxury SUV, the Haval H9.

The 25-year-old had a dream run in the Asia Cup as he finished as the tournament’s highest run-scorer, scoring 314 runs in seven matches at an average of 44.85 and a strike rate of 200, including three half-centuries.

One of his most memorable knocks came against Bangladesh in the Super Four stage, where he smashed a 37-ball 75, lacing his innings with six fours and five sixes. While he couldn’t score big in the final against Pakistan, his earlier contributions ensured the Men in Blue had an unbeaten tournament.

Alongside the POTT trophy, the soutpaw was awarded a brand-new Haval H9 SUV, a luxury reward from Great Wall Motor (GWM), the Chinese automobile giant. According to the official Haval Saudi Arabia website, the Haval H9 costs 142,199.8 Saudi Riyals, which is approximately INR 33.6 lakh. The H9 is positioned as a premium off-road and family SUV.

Soon after receiving the keys, Abhishek was spotted with his opening partner, Shubman Gill, seated in the front seats of the black Haval H9. The SUV, decorated with a giant red ribbon, became a celebratory prop as the two clicked selfies in their India jerseys. Notably, Gill took a humorous dig at Abhishek when he went up to collect his POTT award. "Oh chale aayiye Raju du munda (Here comes Raju's son)," Gill was heard saying in a video.

Getting a car is always a pleasure: Abhishek Sharma

At the presentation ceremony, the opener expressed the pleasure of receiving a car and thanked the Indian coach and captain who backed his approach and intent.

"Getting a car is always a pleasure. (How has this tournament helped you?) I mean, of course, getting into this team after winning the World Cup, it wasn't easy for any opener. But if you see, we had a plan that we want to play a game, you know, that we have to show intent from the first ball. So that was my plan, I worked really hard on that. And if you're playing like this, you need special support from your coach and captain. I think that was the one thing I was getting from them throughout the tournament, before this as well. So obviously, my plan was pretty much clear that, you know, if I do well, if I get that impact, and it's for my team, my team should win. Of course, I mean, if you want to play something like this, sometimes you will fail, but you have to keep the process going. And, you know, and that's what I was getting from my team as well. (On adapting to different pitches in the tournament) I mean, if you see that I had a plan, if I get spinners or pacers in the powerplay, I'm going to utilize that powerplay. Because if you see any bowler, even a fast bowler, any of the premium fast bowlers as well, I want to go from the first ball, no matter who's the bowler. And obviously that's going to make me give that impact to the team. And that's what I want to do," Sharma said.
