It was the most asked question before the Ireland series: Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi make his debut in this series? And to everyone’s surprise, he did not. The Indian team management decided to back the successful opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson for the Ireland Series.

But the returns from them were disappointing in both of the matches. They only managed to score 16 runs in both matches combined as an opening pair, which was one of the reasons for India’s failure to chase the target. With Vaibhav in tremendous form, the Indian team might opt to give the teenage sensation a debut cap against England.
