Five youngest players in ODI World Cup 2023

The ODI World Cup 2023 will begin in India from October 5 onwards. The 10-team event will see 48 matches played across 10 venues in India. This is the first time India is hosting the World Cup tournament as a sole host. The event will begin on October 5 with New Zealand taking on England in the tournament opener at Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad. The venue will also host the big-ticket match between India and Pakistan on October 14. It will also host the final of World Cup 2023 on November 19. The tournament will see lots of new faces in the mix with experienced names. Some of the players are young and are full of talent which will be showcased in due time in the World Cup. Here are the 5 youngest players in the ODI World Cup 2023: 5. Tanzim Hasan Sakib (Bangladesh, 20y 341d) Tanzim Hasan Sakib Tanzim Hasan Sakib is a right-handed fast bowler who was part of Bangladesh’s 2020 U19 World Cup winning team. He made his first-class debut on 29 March 2021, for Sylhet Division in the 2020–21 National Cricket League. His Bangladesh senior debut came in Colombo during the Asia Cup 2023 tournament against India. He made 14* and picked 2/32 in his 7.5 overs, which included the wicket of Rohit Sharma for a duck and Tilak Varma for 5 runs. He is considered to be a budding talent with the ball and has the ability to move it in the air and off the surface as well. 4. Vikramjit Singh (Netherlands, 20y 241d) Vikramjit Singh Netherlands. The left-handed batter and right-arm medium pacer made his ODI debut for the Dutch against New Zealand in 2022. Thus far, he has played 25 ODIs, scoring 808 runs with one century and 4 fifties to his name. He averages 32.32 in ODIs and has a strike rate of 77.17. He has also represented the Netherlands in 8 T20Is, scoring 76 runs. He honed his skills from a young age under Netherlands cricket legend, Peter Borren. His only ODI century came against Oman in the recent ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers Super Six fixture. 3. Riaz Hassan (Afghanistan, 20y 310d) Riaz Hassan Riaz Hassan is a right-handed top-order batter who hails from Nangarhar in Afghanistan. He made his ODI debut for Afghanistan against the Netherlands in January 2022, at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium, in Doha. Thus far, he has scored 120 runs for the Afghans in his five ODI appearances. During this short period of time, the youngster came up with his best score of 50 runs. Notably, Hassan last played an ODI for Afghanistan against the neighbours, Pakistan. In this game, Riaz Hasaan did get some start in his innings but failed to convert it into a big knock. However, commendably enough, while playing away from home in Sri Lanka's Colombo, the batter ended up scoring 34 runs for his side. 2. Aryan Dutt (Netherlands, 20y 118d) Aryan Dutt Aryan Dutt is a right-arm off-break bowler who has represented the Netherlands in 25 ODIs and 5 T20Is matches thus far. He made his ODI debut against Scotland in 2021, at Rotterdam. He has taken 20 ODI wickets at an economy of 5.17 and his best bowling is 3/31. He also has 4 T20I wickets. He was rated highly by former Dutch coach Ryan Campbell. His claim to fame happened when he dismissed West Indies batter Nicholas Pooran in all three ODIs in June 2022, not letting him score more than 10 runs each time. 1. Noor Ahmad (Afghanistan, 18y 253d) Noor Ahmad One of the most exciting young players to watch out for in the ODI World Cup 2023 will be Noor Ahmad of Afghanistan. The 18-year-old left-arm wrist spinner captured the imagination of everyone when he turned out for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023. He has been part of T20 leagues all around the world. Noor has played 3 ODIs and one T20I for Afghanistan and has picked 6 wickets in all. His left-arm wrist spin will gel with Rashid Khan’s leg-spin and the duo could do wonders on surfaces that aid turns. His performance will be the one to watch out for from the Afghanistan side.
