4. Punjab Kings - 19.80 crore

Punjab Kings (PBKS) broke the bank for Yuzvendra Chahal at the mega-auction, acquiring the services of the leading wicket-taker in IPL history for INR 18 crore. Harpreet Brar extended his stay at PBKS, getting picked in the auction for INR 1.50 crore. Leg-spinner Praveen Dubey was also roped in for INR 30 lakh. Brar and Dubey are yet to get a game in IPL 2025. Meanwhile, Chahal has not been able to set the stage ablaze as yet.
3. Chennai Super Kings - 20.50 crore

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) play their home matches at Chepauk, which is traditionally known for favouring the spinners. In recent years, though, the surfaces have been much better for batting. However, this didn't stop the five-time champions from spending big for the tweakers. With all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja already in the lineup, CSK brought back Ravichandran Ashwin (INR 9.75 crore) to the camp after nine years and signed Noor Ahmad (INR 10 crore). Shreyas Gopal (INR 30 lakh) is also in the squad as a backup and can be used when required.
