IPL 2026: 5 players who bounced back after a poor 2025 season
After a tough season, these cricketers emerged as the biggest match-winners for their respective franchises in this season of IPL.
Venkatesh Iyer
The dashing left-hander from Madhya Pradesh, Venkatesh Iyer had a stellar IPL 2026 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and played an important role in their successful title defence. Iyer had a disastrous IPL 2025 with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), scoring just 142 runs in 11 innings.
He was eventually released by the three-time champions. RCB picked him up in IPL 2026 auction, and was used as an impact sub in the second half of the season. He scored 209 runs in just seven innings at a strike rate of 186.61. It was a great comeback after the disappointment of 2025.
