Heading into the 2026 season, the five-time champions once again boast a formidable batting unit filled with a mix of seasoned match-winners and exciting talents.
1. Sanju Samson
The new CSK recruit, the man of the moment, Sanju Samson will undoubtedly be their most important batter for the 2026 season. The Kerala batter was traded from Rajasthan Royals, and CSK will be looking to use his services both as batter and as a wicketkeeper as well. Samson will in all likelihood open the batting along with either Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ayush Mhatre.
He was also named the Player of the Tournament in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2026, and was an integral part in the Indian team’s successful title defence. If he carries on with the same form, he will be a deadly asset for the Chennai-based franchise.
