Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been the joint-most successful team in the Indian Premier League, with a record five titles alongside the Mumbai Indians. Having been led by the iconic MS Dhoni for most of their time in the league, the franchise has reached a record ten IPL finals, the most by any team.

From their debut in 2008, CSK made themselves one of the most professionally run teams. Over the years, they have made bold decisions during IPL auctions. The franchise’s approach to auctions has always been different, leading them to get key players who connect with the team’s culture of trust and performance.

In the very first IPL auction in 2008, CSK made the highest bid of the season by bringing Dhoni to the setup. The following year, during the 2009 auction, CSK once again made headlines with another record-breaking purchase in the form of English all-rounder Andrew Flintoff. Over the years, Chennai has trusted those players who have been part of the team's success and failure. With the 2026 auction approaching, the Men in Yellow will look to make new additions to their squad and once again make some bold moves in the bidding process.
