The franchise picked Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill ahead of the 2022 mega auction, with Pandya named captain and Ashish Nehra appointed as head coach. GT had a dream debut season, clinching the IPL title in 2022 - their first attempt.
