The inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) kickstarted in the year 2008. In the 15 editions of the marquee event, the matches have been staged at different venues. It has been mainly due to the fact that the tournament has generally followed a home-and-away format (barring the seasons that were affected by COVID or general elections). Therefore, the teams have had to adapt accordingly.
Among the venues IPL has been played in, there are some that have been batting-friendly and bowlers have had a tough time in the middle. Teams have scored at a brisk rate on these surfaces and have posted formidable totals more often than not.

Here are the IPL venues having the best run-rate:
5. Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi - 8.30
Arun Jaitley Stadium (earlier known as Feroz Shah Kotla) in Delhi is one of those grounds where shot-making has been comparatively easy and batters have enjoyed batting at the surface. Therefore, fans have witnessed teams scoring a mountain of runs plenty of times.
When Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) clashed against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the fourth IPL edition in Delhi, the home team piled on 231 runs in 20 overs courtesy of blistering knocks from David Warner and Virender Sehwag. The staggering tally is the highest team total at the venue.
Arun Jaitley Stadium has hosted 78 games in the cash-rich league so far and the run rate of the teams has been 8.30. Moreover, over the years, the chasing sides have had more success at the venue, and therefore, the teams winning the toss have been inclined towards fielding first.
