1. Amit Mishra’s 5/17 against Deccan Chargers in 2008

In the inaugural IPL season in 2008, Amit Mishra became the second bowler in the tournament to claim a hat-trick. The leg-break bowler achieved this feat against Deccan Chargers at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium (now Arun Jaitley Stadium).
Along with the Australia veteran pacer Glenn McGrath and Sri Lanka speedster Farveez Maharoof, Mishra looked disciplined and helped Capitals save a total of 194 successfully. In his fiery spell, he dismissed the Chargers’ key batters, Shahid Afridi and Herschelle Gibbs. In the last over of the contest, Mishra got the wickets of Dwaraka Ravi Teja, Pragyan Ojha, and RP Singh off consecutive deliveries and broke into the record books.
