Matters worsened as Zimbabwe suffered a heavy defeat to the West Indies, boosting the Caribbean team's NRR and strengthening the qualification race. With zero points from their opening Super Eight match, India must now win both remaining fixtures against Zimbabwe and the West Indies by significant margins. Even then, their fate could depend on other results and NRR calculations. One more slip-up will officially end their semi-final hopes.
