Mahela Jayawardene returned as the Mumbai Indians' (MI) head coach ahead of this season. While MI finished last in 2024, the five-time champions managed to reach Qualifier 2. However, the Mumbai Indians have always been a result-oriented team. This is what makes MI one of the most successful cricket franchises around the world.
MI could actually think of signing Yuvraj as the head coach and Jayawardene could become a mentor for the Hardik Pandya-led franchise. Yuvraj won the 2019 IPL title with the Mumbai Indians. He has a great relationship with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Sachin Tendulkar, among others. The 43-year-old's never-say-die attitude could align well with the goals of the Mumbai-based franchise.
