2. Win vs India, 2007 ODI World Cup
Bangladesh, still considered minnows in the game, faced India in the 2007 Cricket World Cup group stage on March 17, 2007. India, considered one of the early tournament favourites, were bowled out for 191, with Mashrafe Mortaza finishing with figures of 4/38. Mohammad Rafique also bowled accurately with tight spin to keep India in check.
In the chase, Tamim Iqbal scored 51, Shakib Al Hasan contributed 53 and Mushfiqur Rahim finished unbeaten on 56 to guide Bangladesh to a five-wicket win in a thrilling upset. Bangladesh also beat South Africa and Bermuda in the same tournament, with the win over Bermuda sealing their passage to the Super Eights. They made their way out of a group which consisted of India and the finalist Sri Lanka, two of the biggest powerhouses of the game.
