The Indian Premier League 2025 turned out to be the most searched cricketing series of the year, courtesy of record-breaking viewership and historic moments. The 18th edition reached a record one billion viewers across television and digital platforms, clocking a cumulative watch-time of over 840 billion minutes. Notably, the title was won by Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who ended their 18-year long wait, as RCB finally lifted their maiden IPL title defeating Punjab Kings in a thrilling final in Ahmedabad.
The IPL 2025 final became the most-watched T20 match in history, amassing 31.7 billion minutes of watch-time, with 169 million TV viewers and 892 million digital views on JioHotstar. However, celebrations turned tragic when a stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during RCB’s felicitation led to 11 deaths and several injuries.
