Shafali Verma has become a colossal figure in international cricket at a very young age. With her incredible batting skills, she has won a number of games for India. Back in September 2019, Verma made her international debut and cemented her place in the national team on account of her swashbuckling performances.

In T20 Internationals (T20Is), she has accumulated 1,333 runs with five fifties in 56 matches, at a remarkable strike rate of 132.11. Going by her international experience and impressive numbers, Delhi Capitals (DC) signed her for a hefty amount of INR 2 crore. The franchise also engaged in a bidding battle with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to reserve her services for the upcoming tournament.

The youngster will now be a vital cog for DC as she will be assigned the role of an opener to deliver fine starts to the team. In the recently concluded 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup, she looked out of rhythm scoring only 102 runs in five matches, at a strike rate of 108.51.
