1. Laura Harris

Laura Harris will be the only uncapped overseas player in the WPL. The 32-year-old was sold to DC at the WPL Auction in the accelerated round. The veteran's name had entered the auction with her base price of INR 10 lakh but the Capitals purchased her at INR 45 lakh as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) too showed interest in signing her.
Harris has played numerous knocks for Brisbane Heat Women in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). So far, she has amassed 1,061 runs in 85 innings of 107 matches at a brilliant strike rate of 155.80. Going through her ferocious batting style in Australia’s T20 league, DC may utilise her as a match-finisher in the team.
In the previous WBBL season, she proved her mettle twice with her swift knocks against Hobart Hurricanes Women. At the massive WPL, Harris will back herself to do the same for DC against the opponents on Indian surfaces as well. The dynamic Aussie batter will be supported by Jemimah Rodrigues, Meg Lanning, Shafali Verma, and Taniyaa Bhatia to solidify the DC’s batting unit.
