Jos Buttler [Winning Captain] speaks

Really good performance, stuck to our guns. The back end I think we should have scored a few more, we could do well with some partnerships at the back end. It was fantastic to see Dawid Malan stand up and get a big hundred after what happened first game. We are always looking for the perfect performance, can't remember the number of times it actually comes up. One of the challenges is going to be reading the conditions and pitch well, we have a fantastic, balanced squad - a good combination of swing and spin. Today was fantastic to see Reece Topley come in and perform that way.

Shakib Al Hasan [Losing Captain] speaks

It was a good toss to win, there was some rain last night. There was some help for the faster bowlers but we didn't start well. When you give them a sniff, they will always come at us strong. We did well in the last 10 overs but it will always be tough to chase 350. We planned well, but we couldn't execute. The ball was swinging nicely, needed to put in the right areas and build momentum. I think the position they were in, they could have scored 380-390, we restricted them well. But I think 320 would have been a good total to chase here. It is a long tournament, we have a tough fixture coming up in Chennai, NZ are playing well. We have to move on, keep doing the right things and take it one game at a time

Dawid Malan [Player of the Match] speaks

[What's clicking for him] No idea. Experience if anything. It is nice to contribute. Been a long journey to get to this stage. To get in here is fantastic, and to put in a performance and win a game is great. [Struggles against spin] I think sometimes people create a narrative that isn't there to justify their own writing or views. Sometimes I play a good shot, sometimes I play a bad host. We don't have to second guess ourselves. I am not here to prove a point or prove to people.

Dawid Malan is the Player of the Match

Sam Curran ends the proceedings. 227 All Out

England win by 137 runs, and get their winning campaign off to a great start in this tournament. Bangladesh will be disappointed the way they've played this game. But they had a lot of positives from this game.

The ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup has been delivering some compelling performances since its commencement on October 5. The action will continue as Bangladesh (BAN) will face reigning champions England (ENG) in the seventh match of the ongoing tournament. The match will be contested on Tuesday, October 10 at 10:30 a.m. (IST) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala.

Bangladesh faced Afghanistan in their opening encounter, getting off to a fantastic start in the competition. The joint efforts of Shakib Al Hasan's men enabled them to outplay Afghanistan by six wickets. In just 37.2 overs, they bowled out the opponent for a below-par score of 156, with Shakib and Mehidy Hasan both taking three wickets. Bangladesh chased down the target in just 34.4 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto, respectively.

England, on the other hand, have not got the best of starts to the tournament as they lost to New Zealand in the tournament opener which was the rematch of the final of the 2019 edition. The defending champions failed to defend 282 runs which resulted in their nine-wicket defeat against the Black Caps. Notably, no other batter except Joe Root scored a half-century for the English side.

The crucial partnership of New Zealand batters Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra tore England apart. The duo scored respective centuries in their debut World Cup and recorded the fourth-highest partnership with a 273-run stand in the history of the marquee event.

Bangladesh entered the competition following a win and a defeat in their warm-up games against Sri Lanka and England, respectively. Meanwhile, the rainy weather forced the abandonment of England's first warm-up match against the hosts India.

As both sides compete to win, the game is expected to be a thrilling affair. It is worth mentioning that the resilient powerful England team will be the favorites heading into the game.
