South Africa announce squad for Hong Kong Sixes 2025, Jordan Morris to lead

Cricket South Africa have announced South Africa's squad for the Hong Kong Sixes 2025. The Proteas have secured the title on five instances: in 1995, 2006, 2009, 2012 and 2017. The tournament is scheduled to be held at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong from November 7 to 9.
Jordan Morris, the 26-year-old all-rounder, has been appointed to lead the side. South Africa Under-19 and Titans batter Jorich van Schalkwyk is also a part of the squad. Van Schalkwyk recently grabbed limelight by becoming the first batter to score a double century at the U-19 level, a feat he attained against Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Boland's Ethan Cunningham and Western Province's Kashief Joseph add depth to the batting unit while Abdallah Bayoumi from Western Province and Blake Simpson from Dolphins bring some versatility to the team. The bowling attack will be led by yet another player from Western Province, pacer Mbulelo Dube.

All in all, this year's seven-member squad has a mixed blend of youthful talent and experience. The South Africans will be expected to make a mark at the adrenaline-charged tournament and will be expected to be one of the strong contenders too.

South Africa are pooled in Group A along with Afghanistan and Nepal, and will open their tournament against Afghanistan on November 7. They will then take on Nepal on November 8. Each team will take part in a similar pattern of two fixtures before the knockout stage. There are a total of 10 group-stage fixtures.
