Adelaide Strikers sign Maia Bouchier for 2026 WBBL

Adelaide Strikers confirmed on September 22 the signing of England international Maia Bouchier for the 2026 Women's Big Bash League season. The 27-year-old batter will join the South Australian franchise for the upcoming edition of the WBBL.

Bouchier, born December 5, 1998, has represented England across all three formats. She made her T20I debut against New Zealand on September 4, 2021, her ODI debut against Sri Lanka on September 9, 2023, and her Test debut against South Africa on December 15, 2024. Her multi-format international experience adds considerable depth to the Strikers' batting line-up.

This will not be Bouchier's first experience of Australian conditions. She previously represented Melbourne Stars during the season in 2021-22, giving her a working knowledge of the competition's pace and demands before she arrives in Adelaide.

Bouchier pointed to her existing relationship with head coach Luke Williams as a key factor in her decision to join the Strikers. Williams, who is confirmed as Adelaide Strikers head coach, has worked with Bouchier previously and their familiarity was clearly a draw for the England batter.
