Arshdeep Singh has given insights on his approach and journey as a professional cricketer, especially in the T20I format in which he is India's leading wicket-taker. Arshdeep starred in India's Super Over triumph against Sri Lanka in the final match of the Super Four phase of Asia Cup 2025.

The left-arm pacer emphasised on the importance of staying in the present and not thinking about anything else. He shed light on how he implemented his plans during the Men in Blue's recent clash against the Lankans at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

"The journey is like that of everyone else's, that you have to enjoy the present. Whatever the situation is, for example, I was hit by the batters at the start of my spell today (Super Four clash against Sri Lanka), but I kept on thinking how I can enjoy my present. I thought of how I could contribute my best while fielding. I eventually grasped my opportunity at the end and thought of taking wickets at the end to contain the opposition and win the match," stated Arshdeep while speaking to BCCI TV alongside Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma.

Arshdeep also stressed upon why adapting to various scenarios is key for bowlers, particularly in the shortest format. He also expressed gratitude for the support he has received from prominent fast bowlers over the course of his international career.

"The thought process has been similar. Whenever I've got the opportunity, be it with the new ball or old ball, first innings or second innings, whatever it is, I have always aimed on adapting to the situation. Along the way, I have been accompanied by some wonderful partners, be it Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) bhai, (Mohammed) Shami bhai, (Jasprit) Bumrah bhai and now Hardik (Pandya) bhai - they have always created pressure from one end and I have been rewarded at the other end. I would like to thank them a lot," he added.
