Former India cricketer Madan Lal feels that Pakistani cricketers lack the talent and skill required to compete at the international level. He mentioned the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) contribution in taking Indian cricket to great heights by focusing on improving infrastructure and organising competitive matches.

Pakistan were lacklustre with their performance in their Group A game against arch-rivals India on Sunday, September 14, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. After opting to bat first, the Men in Green huffed and puffed their way to 127/9 in their 20 overs. In reply, India chased the paltry target in 15 overs, with seven wickets to spare.

“Just look at the BCCI. It’s a multi-million industry now, taking Indian cricket to unprecedented heights. They focus on bettering infrastructure, creating a competitive environment by conducting India A matches, and whatnot. And that’s why our team’s standard is so high," Lal told News 18.

“Look at Pakistan. Jaisa wo khele hain… unmein talent hi nahi hai (They lack talent big time). I’ve never seen such shot-making in international cricket. Complete lack of skill," he added.

Bring the Asia Cup home: Madan Lal

Lal, who was a part of India's World Cup-winning campaign in 1983, urged the Indian team to bring the Asia Cup home. Suryakumar Yadav and Co. have already progressed to the Super-Four stage of the competition after bagging wins against the UAE and Pakistan.

“Play the game the way it should be played. Keep your spirits high. Play hard and win it. Bring the Asia Cup home," he concluded.

The Men in Blue will play their final Group A fixture against Oman on Friday, September 19, at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Jatinder Singh-led Oman have already been eliminated and will look to salvage some pride in their clash against India.
