Australian ace pace-bowling all-rounder Pat Cummins has listed out his India-Australia ODI XI ahead of the upcoming white-ball series between the two nations Down Under. Much to a lot of people's surprise, Cummins picked only three Indians in his team, which did not include the likes of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Cummins proceeded with the left-right opening combination of David Warner and Sachin Tendulkar. Warner was renowned for his aggression up top while Tendulkar stands as the top-scorer of the format. Cummins named Ricky Ponting, Steve Smith, Shane Watson and Michael Bevan as his players from No.3 to No. 6 while he opted for MS Dhoni as be the wicketkeeper of his side.

Dhoni was a key part of the Indian team to lead the Men in Blue to the 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy titles. He registered 10773 runs in 350 matches, while also effecting 321 catches and 123 stumpings.

Cummins, who had earlier clarified that he will be picking only retired players, chose the lethal pace-spin duo of Brett Lee and Shane Warne. While Lee claimed 380 wickets in the format in 221 matches, Warne had 293 in 194 matches.

To sum up his squad, Cummins opted for another left-right duo in the form of Zaheer Khan and Glenn McGrath. While Zaheer was instrumental in India's victorious run to the 2011 World Cup (joint-leading wicket-taker in that edition), McGrath was ever-so consistent with his lines and lengths in ODIs as well as Test cricket.

Speaking of Cummins' fitness, he has been sidelined for the upcoming series as he still recovering from a lower back stress injury which he suffered in July. Mitchell Marsh will captain the ODI side in Cummins' absence.
