India Women defeated Australia Women by 21 runs via the DLS method in the first T20I at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Australia Women were bowled out for 133 in 18 overs, with Georgia Wareham top-scoring with 30 runs, while the rest of the batting lineup struggled to build substantial partnerships. For India Women, Arundhati Reddy delivered a match-winning spell, claiming impressive figures of 4/22.

In reply, India Women raced to 50/1 in 5.1 overs before rain interrupted play. With the weather preventing further action, the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method was applied. India were well ahead of the par score at the time of interruption and were consequently declared winners by 21 runs.
