The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to rectify the error regarding Chetan Sakariya's inclusion in the suspect bowling action list. The Indian left-arm pacer was initially named among the seven players on the list released by the BCCI. However, the board clarified that the 25-year-old pacer has been reported but is not banned.

The list includes other domestic cricketers, such as Tanush Kotian of the Mumbai Cricket Association, Rohan Kunnummal of the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA), Chirag Gandhi of the Gujarat Cricket Association, Salman Nizar of KCA, Saurabh Dubey of Vidarbha Cricket Association, and Arpit Guleria of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association. Manish Pandey and KL Shrijith, both from the Karnataka State Cricket Association, were also on the list and have been banned from bowling.

The inclusion of Sakariya in the list appears to be an unintentional mistake by the Indian cricket board. After it came to light, the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) officials informed the BCCI that a south zone player with same name, Chetan, was intended to be on that list.

"It was a sort of miscommunication and error, and Chetan has never been called, and he is not on that list. I understand that the name of a Karnataka bowler should have been there, and the IPL is addressing the issue. The franchises are also being duly informed," Jaydev Shah, the president of SCA, told Cricbuzz.

Sakariya is currently sidelined due to a stress fracture in his back. Recently released by the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Delhi Capitals, the 25-year-old cricketer is expected to make a comeback soon, potentially even joining the Ranji Trophy this season.

Having been inactive since the last IPL, Skariya has not taken part in domestic competitions this season, including the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Despite his absence, he has set a base price of INR 50 lakh for himself and holds the 27th position in the IPL 2024 mini-auction register, slated to take place on December 19.
