Head coach Rahul Dravid, skipper Rohit Sharma, and, batting megastar Virat Kohli in a praiseworthy move gave up their business-class seats for allowing the Indian pacers to get more comfortable and to also give them the additional legroom to relax ahead of the crucial ICC T20 World Cup 2022 semifinal against England at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10.

This is a process that helps the players rest and recover between games and reportedly, the Indian pacers including the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya got enough legroom and time to relax during their journey from Melbourne to Adelaide.

The pacers need to stretch their legs: Support staff

“Before the tournament, we decided that since the pace bowlers clock the maximum mileage on field, day in, day out, they need to stretch their legs,” a support staff member of the Indian team told The Indian Express.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC) rules, every team is allotted four business-class seats. These luxuries are mostly given to the head coach, captain, vice-captain, and the team manager.

However, as per the above reports, after India won their clash against Zimbabwe at the MCG and were gearing up to fly for Adelaide, the above-mentioned people decided to give their business class seats to their pacers for relaxation.

Coming back to the tournament, India  finished as the table toppers of Group 2 during the Super 12 stage with four wins from five matches and eight points to their tally. They handed a massive 71-run defeat to the Chevrons in the last game to set up a semi-final clash with the Three Lions who have also been impressive throughout the event.

The Men in Blue had last played a white-ball ICC tournament final during the 2017 edition of the Champions Trophy and would now be hoping to come out all guns blazing as they look forward to sealing a third T20 World Cup final berth.
