Cubbon Park Police registers case against Virat Kohli's restaurant- One8 Commune
Virat Kohli's pub, One8 Commune, has landed in hot water after Bengaluru's Cubbon Park Police registered a case against it.
Former India captain Virat Kohli's restaurant, One8 Commune, has landed in hot water after Bengaluru's Cubbon Park Police registered a case against it. This is because the restaurant has allegedly failed to provide a designated smoking area.
Police have booked the establishment under various provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), which regulates smoking in public spaces. This is not the first instance when Kohli’s restaurant has run into trouble — an FIR was filed last June for operating beyond permitted hours, and in December, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike issued a notice for not obtaining a fire safety No Objection Certificate.
Kohli recently faced the wrath from a section of cricket enthusiasts after he was heard sledging young Musheer Khan during the Indian Premier League (IPL) Qualifier 1 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). Musheer, who came in to bat as the Impact Player for PBKS, was reminded that he was recently serving drinks to his senior teammates by Kohli.
Some fans felt that Kohli's sledging was too rough for someone making his IPL debut. Others, however, supported the veteran, saying that Musheer was only getting a taste of what's in store for players who are transitioning to the big stage.
However, Kohli did gift Musheer his bat after the match. RCB won the contest by eight wickets, chasing down a 102-run target in 10 overs.
