The Narendra Modi Stadium B Ground witnessed history as Karnataka chased down a staggering target of 413 against Jharkhand on Wednesday, December 24.
After winning the toss and electing to field first against a strong Jharkhand batting line-up, Vidyadhar Patil got Karnataka off to a positive start, getting the better of Utkarsh Singh in the fourth over. Shikhar Mohan and Shubh Sharma struggled to up the ante before Virat Singh and Kumar Kushagra joined forces to shift the momentum in Jharkhand's favour.
Both of them hit sparkling half-centuries but the star of the show was Ishan Kishan, who slammed 125 off just 39 balls. The Jharkhand skipper hit seven fours and 14 sixes in his whirlwind knock. Jharkhand eventually finished on 412/9 in their 50 overs.
Karnataka skipper Mayank Agarwal forged a 114-run stand inside 12 overs with Devdutt Padikkal before getting dismissed for a 34-ball 54. Karun Nair, Smaran Ravichandran, and Krishnan Shrijith couldn't convert their starts into big scores but gave Padikkal good support.

This turned out to be the second-highest successful chase in List A history. The highest continues to be South Africa's herculean effort against Australia in Johannesburg in 2006 when they chased down a 435-run target.
