Dharmendrasinh Jadeja set to leave Saurashtra, likely to join Chhattisgarh for domestic season

Veteran left-arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja is set to part ways with Saurashtra ahead of the upcoming domestic season after obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA). The experienced spinner is expected to represent Chhattisgarh in the forthcoming campaign.
Despite sharing the same surname and bowling style as India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, Dharmendrasinh is not related to the former. The 36-year-old has been a pillar of Saurashtra's bowling attack over the past 13 years and leaves after establishing himself as one of the most successful spinners in the state's history.
According to reports, discussions took place between the player, the SCA, and the team management before the decision was finalised. The conversations reportedly centred around his role in the side across formats. While the SCA and the team management preferred Dharmendrasinh to focus solely on red-ball cricket, the spinner was keen to continue featuring in white-ball competitions as well.
Dharmendrasinh bows out after an illustrious domestic career with Saurashtra. He has represented the side in 100 first-class matches, claiming an outstanding 423 wickets, while also featuring in 90 List A and 73 T20 games.
His contributions played a significant role in Saurashtra's historic Ranji Trophy triumphs in the 2019-20 and 2022-23 seasons. Since the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy season, no bowler has picked up more wickets in the competition than Dharmendrasinh, who has claimed an incredible 293 wickets during that period.

Meanwhile, Odisha have strengthened their squad by signing Lalit Yadav and Ninad Rathva as professional players for the upcoming domestic season.
The 29-year-old off-spinning all-rounder Lalit has secured an NOC from the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA), while Rathva, 27, has received clearance from the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA).
An Odisha Cricket Association official confirmed that both players have been recruited for the forthcoming domestic season.
In another notable move, pacer Rajneesh Gurbani has returned to his home state Vidarbha after spending the previous season with Maharashtra. Meanwhile, all-rounder Shashank Singh has switched from Chhattisgarh to Puducherry ahead of the new domestic campaign.
