Dinesh Karthik provides crucial update on Phil Salt's availability for DC vs RCB
RCB are also hovering around the injury concern for Rasikh Salam.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) missed the unavailability of Phil Salt in their clash against Gujarat Titans, as Jacob Bethell opened alongside Virat Kohli in Match 34 of IPL 2026 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. In an update of concern, RCB's batting coach-cum-mentor Dinesh Karthik has confirmed that Salt will continue to sit out for their upcoming game against Delhi Capitals on Monday, April 27.
Appearing for a media address ahead of the all-important match, Karthik told reporters that the RCB opener will continue to be unavailable for the upcoming clash, with Bethell slated to continue being part of the lineup. Bethell played his first game of the season in Bengaluru on Friday, and departed after a start alongside Kohli, who made 81 off 44.
Meanwhile, fast bowler Rasikh Salam Dar is also ruled out of the clash against DC, Karthik confirmed further.
Rasikh, the medium-fast pacer, experienced multiple moments of a hamstring pull that did not allow him to maintain his rhythm and bowl his overs without interruption. As a result of this, it may be the case that Rasikh has pulled a muscle, which has now ruled the bowler out of the all-important encounter at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
In Rasikh's absence, RCB may be willing to bring in the services of Mangesh Yadav, a pacer, who had started the tournament for the defending champions. Mangesh was bagged for INR 5.00 crore in the mini-auction, but an unimpressive stint in the couple of outings did not allow for him getting any further opportunities, with Rasikh being at the helm of the unit alongside Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
RCB probable playing 11 vs DC in Match 39
Virat Kohli, Jacob Bethell, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (C), Jitesh Sharma (WK), Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Mangesh Yadav
