India Women registered a historic 270-run victory over England Women in the one-off Test at Lord's on July 13. After being put in to bat, India posted 285 in the first innings. Smriti Mandhana top-scored with 83, while Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma contributed 58 and 57, respectively. For England, Sophie Ecclestone was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/68, while Lauren Filer, Issy Wong and Mady Villiers claimed two wickets each.

England were then bowled out for 170 in their first innings, with Amy Jones scoring 52. Kranti Gaud starred with the ball for India, claiming a five-wicket haul, while Sneh Rana and Sayali Satghare picked up two wickets apiece.

In their second innings, India strengthened their position with Smriti Mandhana scoring 70, Yastika Bhatia smashing a century, and Richa Ghosh remaining unbeaten on 50. Ecclestone impressed once again for England with figures of 5/118, while Lauren Bell chipped in with 2/27.

Chasing a daunting target, England were bundled out for 186 despite Amy Jones' 54 and Sophie Ecclestone's 50. Sneh Rana led India's bowling attack with figures of 4/42, while Kranti Gaud, Sayali Satghare and Deepti Sharma claimed two wickets each to seal a memorable win for the visitors.


Top batting performance of the match: Yastika Bhatia

Yastika Bhatia was the standout batter of the match, producing a superb knock of 113 off 158 balls in India's second innings, including 14 boundaries. She played a pivotal role in putting England under pressure, stitching together a 73-run partnership with Smriti Mandhana before adding another crucial 52-run stand with Deepti Sharma to put India firmly in control.


Top bowling performance of the match: Kranti Gaud

Kranti Gaud was the standout bowler of the match, delivering a match-winning performance with seven wickets across both innings. She claimed a superb five-wicket haul in England's first innings, dismissing Maia Bouchier, Tammy Beaumont, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Alice Capsey and Lauren Bell. The right-arm pacer returned impressive figures of 5/37 in 17 overs, including seven maiden overs. She followed it up with another impactful spell in the second innings, picking up 2/54 in 11 overs to play a crucial role in India's historic victory.

  • 67-run stand between Amy Jones and Mady Villiers is the third-highest 50-plus partnership for the sixth wicket or lower in the fourth innings of a Women's Test.
  • Amy Jones became only the second player to score 50-plus in both innings of a Women's Test while batting at No. 6 or lower (52 & 54).
  • Amy Jones is the first designated wicketkeeper to register 50-plus scores in both innings of a Women's Test.
  • Smriti Mandhana's 50 off 50 balls is the third-fastest fifty by an Indian batter in Women's Tests.
  • Richa Ghosh's 50 off 52 balls is the fifth-fastest fifty by an Indian batter in Women's Tests.
  • India's match aggregate of 626 runs is their second-highest in Women's Test cricket.
  • Sophie Ecclestone claimed her fourth five-wicket haul in Women's Tests, moving into joint second on the all-time list.
