The England Women's team is set to travel to the Caribbean shores as the national side will cross swords with West Indies for three ODIs and five T20Is in December. The fixtures for the ODIs are a part of the bigger picture that makes up the ICC Women's Championship that teams are contesting for.

Furthermore, the Three Lions are currently with no points under their belt following their 3-0 defeat to team India earlier in September, 2022. Jonathan Finch, the Director of England Women’s cricket was elated to announce the schedule for the women’s team.

"We're happy to be able to release the schedule for the tour of the West Indies. "It's always a great place to visit and with a new head coach soon to come on board it's the beginning of a new cycle for this team,” said Finch.

Moreover, the director also stated that the tour to the Caribbean soil was the national side’s first overseas campaign in the ICC Women's Championship schedule.

"The West Indies series sees our first overseas round of the ICC Women's Championship and it's key we get some points on the board. The tour also plays an important role in preparing for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup early next year,” added Finch.

Speaking about their head-to-head record, England has emerged victorious on as many as 15 occasions of the 23 ODIs they have played against Windies thus far, with the latter winning only six times. Adding to this, the English side have kept their record impressive in the shortest format as well, with 13 wins to West Indies' eight.

Skipper Heather Knight, who underwent a hip surgery this past summer, is hopeful of making it just in time for the tour. The official squad will soon be announced by the ECB in the coming weeks.
