All-rounder Cameron Green has barely got a chance to prove himself in the Australian summer so far. After not getting a chance to bat in Perth against the West Indies, the 23-year-old has scored nine and five in Adelaide in the second Test. In the first Test against South Africa at the Gabba, Green scored 18 in the first innings while remained not out on zero in the second innings.

Despite a good start in the opening innings, the over-spiced pitch at the Gabba got the better of him as he could not do much. With the ball, the young cricketer bowled only 32 overs across three Tests and thus, he currently feels that the team does not need him at the moment. Green also mentioned that it has been a "weird start" for him. However, he said that it is an indication that the team is currently playing a good brand of cricket.

“It's definitely been a weird start to the summer for myself not having to do too much," Green told reporters in Melbourne. "Being an allrounder you're the guy to help out when the team needs. At the moment it feels like I'm not really needed. It's probably a sign of how well the team is playing. We've been winning games of cricket and that's what you want."

Even though he is not getting enough opportunities to show his worth, Green is keeping himself ready and is confident of doing well in the Boxing Day Test. The cricketer mentioned that he currently is doing well in the nets and is in a pretty good space.

“All you can look at is how you are training and I feel in a pretty good space," he said. "I'm hitting the ball well. If you can't get much game time that's the only way you can tell how you are going. I feel pretty good in the nets."
