Gujarat Giants Women have announced their retention list for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 on September 28, 2026. The franchise will be aiming for a stronger campaign after struggling to maintain consistency in the tournament over the previous seasons.
Gujarat Giants have endured a difficult run in the WPL, finishing fifth in two seasons. However, they showed significant improvement last season by finishing second in the league stage. Despite their strong campaign, they were unable to go all the way and missed out on a place in the summit clash.
Ahead of the 2027 season, the franchise have retained several key members of their squad, including Ashleigh Gardner, Anushka Sharma, Bharti Fulmali, Yastika Bhatia and Renuka Singh. The retention of these players gives the Giants a familiar core as they look to build a more competitive squad for the upcoming edition.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the fifth edition of the WPL will be held from January 14 to February 7, 2027. Five teams will compete for the coveted title in the upcoming season.
