Harbhajan Singh to play for Aspin Stallions in Abu Dhabi T10 League
Harbhajan will join the first-ever Emirati-owned franchise in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh is set to light up the Abu Dhabi T10 League as he joins Aspin Stallions.
Owned by Ahmad Khoori, a member of the UAE Federal National Council and former senior Vice President of Emirates Airlines, the Aspin Stallions are one of the five new teams alongside Vista Riders, Ajman Titans, Royal Champs and Ajman Titans in the league and will represent a pioneering step in Emirati participation in global franchise sports.
The Emirates Cricket Board has rapidly grown into one of the world’s most exciting cricket Nations with the emergence of fast-paced 10-over format, the AD T10 league, which offers a blend international talent and entertainment, making it a defining platform for global sports engagement.
Shaji Ul Mulk, Founder and Chairman of the League, said:
“We welcome Aspin Stallions as the first Emirati-owned franchise in the league. This is a proud moment not just for Abu Dhabi T10 but for the UAE’s sporting ecosystem. It reflects the UAE’s growing prominence as a global sports destination and reinforces the spirit of partnership between nations.”
Harbhajan, who took 25 wickets in 28 T20Is for India, played his last game in 2016. The veteran off-spinner will also bring his wealth of experience from the Indian Premier League (IPL) to the Stallions. He has a stellar IPL record, having claimed 150 wickets in 163 games.
In addition to Harbhajan, the Stallions have also acquired the services of England wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings, left-arm pacer Tymal Mills, the Sri Lanka duo of Avishka Fernando and Binura Fernando, West Indies batter Andre Fletcher, and United Arab Emirates' Zohair Iqbal as direct signings.
Meanwhile, the tournament is set to run from November 18 to 30 in the United Arab Emirates.
