Worcestershire CCC seamer Harry Darley will leave the club at the end of the 2026 season. The 21-year-old, born on November 21, 2004, has been a part of the county setup since joining the Worcestershire Academy in winter 2022, and his departure will bring to a close a journey that began when he was still a teenager.

Darley signed a professional contract with Worcestershire in 2024, having impressed through the Academy pathway. He then extended his stay at New Road with a one-year deal agreed in October 2025, a commitment that now covers his final season at the club. No reason has been disclosed for his departure, and the club has not made any further statement on the circumstances surrounding the decision.

"Harry has always represented the Club with the utmost pride and professionalism whenever the chance has arisen. As a local lad who has made his way through the Academy and into the senior set up, he should be very proud of his time at Worcestershire," head coach Alan Richardson said in an official statement.

What did Darley achieve during his time at Worcestershire?

Darley made his First-Class debut on May 8, against Durham, reaching a significant milestone in the same season as his exit from the club. The appearance against Durham marked his arrival at the highest level of domestic cricket in England after several years of development within the Worcestershire system.

Beyond the First-Class arena, Darley represented Worcestershire across all three formats during his time at New Road. His regular outings for the Second XI were a consistent feature of his development. Darley's career at Worcestershire spanned from the winter 2022 Academy intake through to the conclusion of the 2026 campaign, covering roughly four years in the county structure.

What is known about Darley's next move?

No information has been confirmed regarding where Darley will go after leaving Worcestershire at the end of the 2026 season. It is not yet known whether he has agreed terms with another county or what his next step in professional cricket will be. No announcement from any other club has been made at the time of writing.

"Although opportunities have been limited, his consistent performances across every format and in the 2nd XI have been very admirable. Everyone at the Club would like to wish him every success for the future, and he will always be welcomed back to New Road," Richardson said.

Darley departs New Road having made his First-Class debut and having contributed across formats. His future in the game remains open, and further developments are expected once the 2026 season concludes.
