Following a dismal performance in the first Test at Nagpur, Australia's flamboyant southpaw, David Warner, arrived in New Delhi, with a heavy security cover. The Rohit Sharma-led team India and World No. 1 Test side Australia will engage in the second of the four-match Test series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, which is scheduled to be played on Friday, February 17.

As the two sides have begun preparations in full swing, Australia will look to get level in the series after handing a 0-1 lead to the home side in the first clash. While the cricketers arrived in Delhi for the second red-ball contest, heavy security was deployed for Australia opener David Warner in the airport of the capital city. Warner took to his Instagram handle to share a picture where he is seen surrounded by police escort while exiting the airport premise.

“Arrived Delhi,” Warner captioned the photo.

Mitchell Starc hands major boost to Australia ahead of Delhi Test

After the utter capitulation in the first Test, the Aussies have been handed a major boost as speedster Mitchell Starc is optimistic on his return for the Delhi Test. The ace pacer was kept on sidelines owing to an injury while fielding against South Africa in December as he damaged his left middle finger.

"There's a few boxes to tick but it's on track. I'd like to be a little further down the road (in the recovery). But it's progressing - not as fast as I would have liked, but it's as planned in terms of the medical stuff. I'll do everything I can to be fully available for selection. Then it's a discussion for the rest of the group involved," Starc was quoted as saying by NDTV.

It is worth mentioning that the two fierce rivals are on the cusp of making a place in the summit clash of the World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle. However, with India winning the first clash, Australia’s wait to cement a berth in the finals of the global ICC event continues.
