India are playing against Australia in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad. The Rohit Sharma-led side won the first two Tests while facing a nine-wicket loss in the third Test. Meanwhile, Australia who made a terrific comeback in the third Test, are trying to level the series 2-2.

Choosing to bat first, the Australian batters made it their day as they scored a massive 255/4 on Day 1 of the final Test. Aussie opener Usman Khawaja brought up his 14th Test ton against India. On Day 2, Khawaja and Cameron Green, who was 49 not out at the end of the first day, resumed the batting.

After the break, Khawaja and Green made a historic double-century (208) stand against the hosts. However, India finally got a breakthrough in the 131st over as Ravichandran Ashwin struck in his second over after lunch and dismissed Green (114). The veteran off-spinner powered for the second time in the same over sending back Alex Carey.

Australia have continued their domination in the fourth Test against India as they seem to have picked it up from where they left off in the third Test. A magnificent 180 from opener Usman Khawaja and a brilliant maiden Test century by Cameron Green helped Australia post an imposing first innings total of 480 in Ahmedabad.

However, Ashwin’s five-wicket haul on Day 2 was a kind of relief for India. The veteran off-spinner took the wicket of Green while Axar Patel managed to remove Khawaja. Travis Head, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, and Todd Murphy are the other players who got dismissed by Ashwin. Mohammed Shami took two wickets while Ravindra Jadeja scalped one on Day 1.

India openers Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma made sure that India ended Day 2 of the ongoing fourth Test without losing a wicket. The hosts are 36/0 at the end of Day 2, and trail by 444 runs.
